Police Beat

We all know that BYU runs a pretty tight ship, but here is just a piece of the crime that goes down there...

Aug. 2

Police were called when a male student was reportedly having an inappropriate conversation with two female students at the BYU Bookstore. When police arrived, the three students were questioned and it was determined no laws had been violated.

July 23

Police were called to inspect two suspicious-looking dark bags found in Brigham Square. The bags were discovered to contain clothing, a water bottle and a note pad.

July 24

At 1 a.m., juveniles were reported to be jumping up and down on the gate arm at the south gate near lot 2. When police arrived it was clear the juveniles were simply doing the limbo using the gate arm and that no damage had been done to the arm.

Sept. 12: A custodian reported screaming near the MCKB at 4 a.m. The screams were later discovered to have come from a female student sprayed by a sidewalk sprinkler.

Sept. 13: Police responded to a call reporting suspicious characters at the OIT construction site on the south end of campus. Upon arrival, the suspects were discovered to be construction workers.

I got these from the Police Beat website, click here to see more...

House Update: We decided to go with all tile downstairs, we really wanted to do it but it was a bit over the flooring credit they gave us, but Dad and Angie stepped in and gave us it as a great house warming gift - - Whoo hoo! So, now the landscaping will be done by the end of the week and the whole house will be finished on October 6th! We are doing the walk-through on October 8th! and still haven't set a closing date but I am guessing October 15th?

Things that are bugging me:
*Although I am so glad we went there and I had tons of fun at Bear Lake, I am a little perturbed and less than stoked that I received a very minor sunburn on my face. My face is now peeling (which never happens when I get sunburned)
* Since my bottom lip also got sunburned, I have 2 fever blisters on my bottom lip which, as Trent knows because I have told him every time I have the opportunity, really hurt!
*And, for some reason, my back is sore the way it was before I went under the knife...

and Just to Add to It - - Everytime I open yogurt it squirts into my eye!! or somewhere else on my face, why can't they make it not do that?!

This Weekend: Trent and I are going to St. George to go climbing and stuff? It will only be for the day cause we both are doing lessons on Sunday.

FYI: Angie wanted to see our house on Sunday so we drove over, couldn't go in cause the tile was being laid, but thats okay cause good thing we were outside, our neighbors directly across the street were pulling into their garage, Angie noticed the husband had on a white collar shirt and I noticed they had those stickers on the back window of the car showing everyone in the fam... plus, it was 4:30, Definetly Mormons! We talked and found out church is from 1:30 to 4:30 and the ward is HUGE so that means no callings (YES!) I probably shouldn't be so happy for that but that means more weekends away with family!!

Married Couple's First Dance

If we had a first dance, it probably would have gone something like this: Well, my cousin sent this to me saying it reminded her of me...HAH! Remember Trent saying we choreographed dances in Moab? Well, he begged me to do our dance for our reception but we just couldn't, there wasn't enough space and all that. (not to mention, I probably would have been mortified and not able to go through with it)

Big Bear, CA

This weekend we went up "camping" in Big Bear, CA. I use the term "camping" loosely as we stayed in my dad and Angie's luxury, 35', 2 bedroom trailor, no need to mention the 3 (yes 3) flatscreen plasma TV's.... (love it.) But we had tons of fun, we were right on the water and Big Bear is a cool little hippie town. We went fishing a few times and check out these monster fish we caught! Trent is pretty excited, can you tell?

Right after Kole pretended to eat his fish he chucked it back in the water cause he didn't like it wiggling around in his hands, the water is about 20 feet away and 10 feet down, mind you. It was pretty funny, poor fish...

I have saved the best for last... when that fish came up, it was hilarious, but look at the proud look on his face!!

Here is just some random ones of us... I took some black and white and sepia ones of the boys while they were fishing and got a couple of cool shots, I think.
Me and Kash, yes, I know my hair looks awesome when the wind blows it like that.

This is a picture I took of Trent that I really like.
It was lots of fun! Thanks for taking us Dad and Angie!

I just thought this was awesome!!
This is for Trent... we were laughing so hard, it's so random

My Prince Charming

Trent and I had our year and a half anniversary on Wednesday. We ate out at the cheesecake factory and walked around some shops. It has flown by and I just thought I would make a public declaration of my love for him...
A few years ago, I made a pack with some friends that we would never settle for less than our Prince Charming.
(These are my friends that I made the pack with)
Well, I was incredibly naive, I thought I knew what I wanted until I met Trent. Being married to him is better than I ever thought marriage would be. Trent has more talents and qualities than I ever could have imagined a husband to have. Above all, he is patient. I have anxiety and I know that I am sometimes harder on him than he deserves, but he is never that way with me. He is very knowledgeable about the church. He loved his mission and talks about it everyday. I know the church is a key reason as to why our marriage is so strong and will last forever.
As I sit here and think of all the reasons why I love him it all goes back to the fact that,
Trent, you are my best friend. I cannot imagine a marriage only for love and not based on friendship. I love to be with you whenever possible. I know that you work so hard for us and you have many aspirations and you just want me to be happy. You know that I would do anything for you. We have so much fun together, yet, I can always tell you how I feel and you can always make me feel better. It is because of our friendship that we will always be happy. We respect one another, and because of this, we have never had a single fight (although that doesn't mean we haven't gotten a little impatient with each other). Like you told me September 17th, 2006, I wanna grow old with you... and on August 9th, 2006, Yo Te Amo... You are my Prince Charming .

Our New House!

Who's house is this and what is the address in the title, you ask?? Why, its OUR new house of course!! A brand spankin new Lennar home! And we got it for a screamin deal!

It's still being built but it will be done in one month from today, give or take a day...

Thanks to down payment assistance we will be
closing October 15th, the day of the cutoff. Lucky!

That's me standing in the garage! The windows in front are all the master suite. The little one on the left is the walk-in closet, the big one is the room and the one on the right is the bathroom.

The second and third bedrooms are on the back of the house and have the city views! This is the view from your room... (assuming whoever is reading this is planning on visiting us!!)

This is our huge kitchen... it has many standard upgrades, including all stainless steal appliances (fridge, dishwasher, oven, microwave) granite counter tops, and extra tall oak cabinetry! Plus, a washer and dryer!!

This is the master bedroom. It has a walk-in closet (with a window in it?) and that's me peaking in the bathroom. It has a super huge circular tub!

The house comes equipped (standard upgrade) with 2 inch faux wood blinds on every window.

They also gave us a $2,500 credit to upgrade the flooring, so today, I am going to the store to pick it all out!

The house is in a master planned community, so its all tree lined, and has lots of big parks and its all brand new!

The only downside is that Trent has a 40 minute commute each way to look forward to and with gas prices right now, YIKES! But, since they are taking care of our down payment and closing costs and all appliances and we won't be replacing any carpet or repairing holes in walls or buying blinds (or a million other things we were originally gonna have to pay for if we got into a foreclosure) we will have all of our savings plus however much more we save til we move in!

Oh wait, did I forget to mention the 5.25% 30 year FIXED interest rate?!? Oh yeah, that helps out the payment, major! It brought up our buying power about 25%!!

Anyways, we are super excited and we will post more pictures as the house come along.

Thanks, Greg!

This is Trent and I am finally doing my first post, appropriately so under this youtube video we snagged off a family members blog. But I really just reminds me of cherie and I and the time we were dating. Because since I was so impoverished while dating, I would try to seduce my future bride by buying our favorite drinks and go into the woods and have secret choreographing sessions. We never really pulled off our birds of paradise dance. But always remember the simple things that made us fall madly in love with each other. However, if I say so myself I pull off some dazzling made up dance moves. Oh yes Cherie totally fell head over heels for some made up dance moves.

Remembering 9/11

Today marks the 7th year anniversary since the terrorist attack - although anniversary doesn't seem like the right word? Does anybody think we should still pull out of Iraq after watching this?

For Your Viewing Pleasure...

My eyes just well up with tears when I think of this show one day going off the air.

Las Vegas Rainstorm

Las Vegas rainstorms aren't like any others. First off, because they don't affect the temperature, it was still 90 degrees out when it was pouring. Second, they come and go in a flash. It poured hard enough in about 15 minutes that the roads were flooded about 5 feet out from the sidewalk and in some places more. Then the sun peaked out again and there were 2 rainbows that went across the whole sky. The end is my favorite part...

Tagged!?!

Its a good thing I got tagged with this cause my goofball sister-in-law, Kalei, was asking tons of questions this weekend, so she will probably appreciate this.

How long have you been together? 2 years
How long did you date? nine months, although we still like to consider each other bf/gf to keep things interesting.
How old is he? 24
How old is she? pushing 23
Who eats more? TRENT, def. TRENT!
Who said "I love you" first? Trent did. The night before he said it we were going back and forth with, "NO, I REALLY REALLY like you." When I said, "I like you like CRAZY, like I have never liked anyone before ." Which we all know, means I love you. He said, "I like you like my mom." At this point, I said, "Goodnight." We were on a multi-day river trip sleepin in cots next to each other so I just rolled right over. The next day, I was talking to my brother (who came on the river trip also) about how I didn't know if Trent wanted to date after the summer ended cause he had never mentioned it and I just didn't know how much he liked me. Then later on that night (it was sunset by the way) I was sitting on a rock drawing in the sand, Trent came over and sat next to me and wrote, "Yo te amo" in the sand (I guess he was too scared to write it in English) I was pretty sure on the translation but didn't wanna assume and then be wrong that could be embarrassing, so I said, "what does that say?" and he said, "What's YO mean?" and I said, "I" and he said, "What's te?" and I said, "You" and he said, "and amo?" and I said, "love" and he said, "Yeah?" and then I said, "I love you too!!" then, in true Trent fashion, he took off running, but not without grabbing a sheet off his cot. Just to make sure he didn't think it was a sympathy, "I love you too" I went after him. So, picture this, we were in a canyon on the river at sunset and it was windy and we were standing on a beach and he turned around and hugged me wrapping the sheet around me and we both said I love you and kissed. Movie worthy, I know.
Who is taller? Trent, 6 feet, me, 5'6"
Who sings better? Uhh... prob me
Who is smarter? I have street smarts and living on your own smarts but Trent knows a lot about history and cars and stuff.
Who does the laundry? Much to my dismay, no matter how many clothes he ruins of mine, he still does it cause the laundry piling up bugs him before it bugs me. But last week, I officially banned him from doing my laundry.
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? We change it up pretty much every night, this might change once we move into a house though.
Who pays the bills? Me.
Who cooks dinner? It depends on who gets off work first but I think usually me.
Who is more stubborn? Me
Who kissed who first? This story is too mushy and juicy and embarrassing to tell, sorry Kalei (I don't know, if you really want to know maybe I could tell just you, I just don't think I could post it here) but long story short, Trent went in for the kill.
Who asked who out? Neither we just were.
Who proposed? Trent, but just barely. Really Trent, I'm over it, I just like to give you a hard time.
Who has more friends? Equal
Who has more siblings? Me.
Who wears the pants in the relationship? I regret to say, it's me, but I wish it wasn't.

I tag Lexie!!

House Hunting

A couple weeks ago we were "officially" approved to buy a house so we have been looking since then. The problem here is that their are too many houses! The banks are having to strategize. (In case you don't know about the housing market here, there are at least 2 homes bank owned on every block, or at least it averages out that way, so that's the houses we are looking at, for sale by owners are about $100,000 more in debt than we are willing to offer them so there is no point looking at those. (That is what the houses were worth 2 years ago when they bought them)) Anyways, the banks are pricing houses somewhere around $20,000 less than what they will actually get for them, to "create urgency", this way, they get 10-30 offers and can take their pick! Yesterday, we made 3 offers on 3 houses all on the same block with the same floorplan!! Not that we were in love with the floorplan or neighborhood necessarily but it had a lot of the things we need, plus all had great upgrades! We even offered the exact same amount on each one. I won't be surprised if they all say no, we just need to get as many offers in as possible to increase our chances. It's weird how it can be a buyers market and a sellers market at the same time. Just thought I would keep you guys updated and thought you might find that interesting... We love all of you!

Labor Day Weekend

For the long weekend we headed up to Utah and got to spend a lot of time with Trents family. We got to see our brand new little nephew, Jaxon and it was my mother in law's birthday so we got to celebrate with her!! The weather was so perfect, in the 70's I think, with a breeze, WOW, we aren't used to that anymore having come from Texas and now living in Vegas. However on Sunday the weather turned and it got really really windy and was pouring, it felt like fall!! But now we are back in 100 degree weather and longing for the Logan greenery and temperatures! We didn't take many pictures this weekend so I only have one that is worthy of your viewing pleasure.
We clipped Kalei's hair extensions in Trent's hair during church and it was really funny. I'm sure now he wishes when we were taking the picture he wasn't making that face. Sorry Trent, I love you. By the way, that is our little dog Bubba standing by the door. He LOVES to come on the road trips with us although his breath stinks up the whole car and we can't get it to smell any better. and also, P.S., we saw the movie "Traitor" with Don Cheadle while up in Logan, they claim its the "Bourne Identity" of 2008. YEAH RIGHT! So lame, we hated it.
